The Ghost Train is a twist from Big Brother 9. It was introduced as the 'secret ride' of Big Brother's Carnival, the season's main twist, and saw evicted houseguests get the chance to re-enter the game for the first time in the series. Only by defeating their fellow evictees in the Carnival Ride competitions could evictees hope to earn enough tickets to buy their way back.

Overview[]

Houseguests land on the Ghost Train after they are evicted from the main house. The goal is to win enough tickets in the Carnival Ride competitions to buy the 'Key Reclaim' from the Carnival Shop, earning the right to get off the Ghost Train and back into the house.

However, those same competitions now have deadly stakes, as evicted houseguests on the Ghost Train all compete against each other to try and put in the best performance. Only the best performing evictee in each competition can stay on the Ghost Train, and claim tickets equal to that of their comparative result. All other losing evictees are automatically eliminated for good.

The Key Reclaim opens for purchase at the price of 50 tickets, at a certain point in the game, and reduces by 10 tickets each round thereafter. Only after surviving a Carnival Ride competition can an evictee enter the shop, and see if they can buy their place back in the game. Once the Key Reclaim is bought, the Ghost Train comes to a halt, and all future evictions are permanent.
