"Wordsmithery" is a Head of Household competition which originated in Big Brother Eruption.

In this mental competition, houseguests must solve a Crossword and Criss-Cross word puzzle, in order to get letters to complete a task.
Shawn begins the competition by posting a Crossword and a Criss-Cross puzzle. Completing each puzzle will give houseguests three letter-strings consisting of twelve letters each (six strings in total).
Once they have all six strings, houseguests must use each twelve-letter string to form two separate 5-letter words, thereby leaving two letters unused each time for a total of twelve unused letters.
To complete the challenge, houseguests need to use their unused twelve letters to form one 9-letter word. If they cannot form a 9-letter word with their leftovers, they will need to go back through the original letter-strings and make adjustments to have different leftover letters.
Once a houseguest thinks they have a 9-letter word from their leftover letters, they must submit all their 5-letter words from the strings, along with all their leftover letters, and the 9-letter final word formed with those leftover letters. Shawn will then check that all of their words are valid through dictionary.com before confirming their solution is valid.
The first houseguest to submit a 100% valid solution will become the new Head of Household.
